May the 4th be with you!

The 3rd graders in Ms. Kopac's classroom at DES recently celebrated Star Wars Day. Students completed a variety of activities with a Star Wars twist. In reading class, they read and answered comprehension questions about James Earl Jones, the voice behind Darth Vader. Then, they researched the release dates of all the Star Wars films to create a timeline. During math class, the students made their own droids and used grid paper boxes to determine the area of their robot. In writing class, students wrote informative paragraphs about a planet in a galaxy far, far away. Finally, the students completed their jedi training by using "the force" in science class. While they may not have moved objects with their mind like Yoda, they did move objects with magnetic force! It was a fun and memorable day for all. May the force be with you!
