New Wellsville Principal Announced

Northern York County School District is excited to announce that Melinda Vazquez is slated to be the next principal of Wellsville Elementary School, pending board approval on June 21.

Ms. Vazquez comes to Northern with over 15 years of experience in education. She is currently serving as Assistant Principal at Washington Heights Elementary School in the West Shore School District. Along with two additional stints as Assistant Principal earlier in her career, Ms. Vazquez has also taught secondary learning support. She holds a Masters of Educational Leadership and a Masters in Special Education, both from City College of New York; and a Bachelors in Speech and Hearing Sciences from Edinboro University.

Wellsville’s current principal, Ashlie Rittle, has accepted a new professional opportunity in her home district and will remain in her role until July 1. We wish Ashlie all the best and thank her for her service to the district!
