Middle School Science Competition

Ecybermission, sponsored by the Army Educational Outreach Program, is a science competition offered to students in grades 6-9. This year’s team of Noah Hayes, Collin McDonald, and Jon Brettschneider placed within the top three teams of the Northeast region of the United States. Their research, experiment, and work revolved around the invasive Spotted Lanternfly. The students created traps and taught 8th grade science how to identify the Spotted Lanternfly and actions to take when spotting one - including stomping on it and calling 1-888-4BAD-FLY to report the finding.

Each student won two $500 savings bonds ($1000 at maturity) for their 1st place state award and for being a U.S. Regional Finalist. Congratulations to all!
