Project Polar Cares

The new "Project Polar Cares Clothing Closet" is underway at Northern! As a way to help Northern York County School District families in need, a clothing closet has been created with a start-up grant from the Polar Bear Foundation. An empty room in the Sports and Learning Center has been transformed into the clothing closet and is coming together, rack by rack, with assistance from students in the Northern High School Life Skills Class.

Families in need of clothing may contact their child’s Guidance Counselor or School Nurse to request clothing for their entire family. Donations have been pouring into the schools and Administration Office. A green barrel with the words, 'Project Polar Cares’, is set up in every Northern school lobby and the Administration Office to accept donations of gently used clothing, coats, sneakers, shoes, and boots.

What do we need? In addition to Fall/Winter clothing, we need donations of NEW packages of socks and underwear; all sizes for children and adults. Stay tuned for weekly updates on Project Polar Cares!
