Student Assistance Program
As a means to identify high risk students who are experiencing school-related problems due to alcohol and drug abuse and/or at risk of suicide or other problems, student assistance teams are in operation at the high school and middle school.
The student assistance programs serves as a method for intervening and referring students to appropriate drug and alcohol programs or to mental health services. The student assistance team is specifically designed to be a intervention, not a treatment, program. The heart of this program is a core group of professionals who are specifically trained to work with these students.
If you believe you need help with your secondary school-aged child for either of the reasons above, please contact the guidance office or nurse at the student’s building to make a parental referral.
