Psychological Services

Using specialized training in both psychology and education, the school psychologist works with educators, parents and other mental health professionals as necessary to assist those students that exhibit academic, emotional and behavioral difficulties in the classroom.  The school psychologist uses various approaches to best suit the needs of individual children, specific to each situation.  This may include consultation with school personnel regarding the educational, emotional, and social development of students, intervention strategies for the children at-risk for academic difficulties and assessment to determine eligibility for special education.  In addition, the school psychologist offers educational programs for school personnel.  Conferences scheduled with the school psychologist, parents and school personnel are a common approach for sharing information, ideas, and suggestions.
