NYCSD Threat Assessment Team
-
All school entities in Pennsylvania must establish a Threat Assessment Team (TAT).
The primary role of the TAT is the assessment of and intervention with students whose behavior may indicate a threat to the safety of the student, other students, school employees, school facilities, or the community.
The Northern York County School District trained a multidisciplinary team of 25 individuals (principals, asst principals, nurses, school counselors, school psychologists, school security officers, special education administrators, and other district administrators) in order to build district capacity.
This approach enables each building to have trained experts who will receive the alleged threat, assess it, and then respond by following the district's Threat Assessment Flowchart.
For situations requiring more analysis, each building team will reach out to the district team for input.
Most importantly, please report all possible threats to your child's principal or school counselor.
If that is not sufficient for your specific situation, you can submit your concern through the safe2say something program at the link https://www.safe2saypa.org/.
Below you will find the list of Threat Assessment Team members.
