This year-long, one credit course continues an American Studies sequential program presented in 7th and 8th grade Middle School. It is designed to give students an overview of American History from World War I to the present. Our course is designed to investigate vital historical themes from the 1910s to the present. Students will consistently draw upon modern American and World events as well, in order to develop an understanding of America’s role in today’s world. We need to gain an understanding and respect of our past in order to develop a concern for our future. Hopefully by taking this course you will understand the values and traditions that have shaped our country into what it is today.
