On January 20, 2021, the PA Supreme Court has granted Washington Township’s longstanding request to secede from Dover Area School District (DASD) and transfer to the Northern York County School District (NYCSD). Washington Township will become part of NYCSD, and its approximately 220 K-12 students will be transferred to NYCSD starting as early as this coming fall.

In anticipation of this outcome, NYCSD has been in discussions with DASD and formed a committee to discuss the mechanics and implications of the upcoming transfer. NYCSD administration is committed to working with DASD on a transition plan that is executed within the parameters of the Court’s decision and is in the best interest of the residents and students in both districts.

We value community input and invite you to share your questions and/or concerns to the Administration for consideration as we move forward with next steps. The questions, concerns, and information gathered from this survey will be summarized into a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document and addressed during the District's upcoming Washington Township Transition Community Forum.
