Right to Know Request
The Northern York County School District (NYCSD) is currently closed consistent with the Governor’s Emergency Declaration issued in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic. During this mandated closure, NYCSD may not be able to respond to requests for public records under the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. The Office of Open Records (OOR) has advised that when a public entity is closed, that day is not a “business day” and does not count toward the five business days referenced in Section 901 of the RTKL, which governs the time period under which an agency must respond to a request. Consequently, NYCSD will process requests once it reopens. Further, unless you have an urgent need to access public records, please do not file any new RTKL requests at this time. If submitting a request is necessary, please seek copies of records (preferably electronic) rather than in-person inspection. In-person inspection of records will not be possible during the current closure. Thank you for your patience during this unprecedented time.
In accordance with the requirements of the Right-to-Know Law, 65 P.S. § 67.101 et seq., the Northern York County School District has adopted Policy 801 - Public Records Policy. That policy requires the Board of School Directors to appoint an Open Records Officer. At the August 24, 2017 meeting of the Board of School Directors, Mr. Matthew LaBuda, Assistant to the Superintendent for Administrative Services, was appointed as the Open Records Officer for the Northern York County School District.
Legal residents of the United States may request to inspect or obtain copies of records of the School District. Requests must be directed to the Open Records Officer. A request may be made by completing this form. Questions that are bold are required and must be completed to sumbit this form.
