Welcome to 10th grade English!  Academic English II prepares the student for college-level work by engaging in literature, writing, vocabulary, and grammar study.  Emphasis is placed on solid comprehension of selected material rather than a slight acquaintance with every work in the textbooks.  Units of study include process writing, grammar, vocabulary, short stories, drama, poetry, and non-fiction.  Students will need a folder with pockets for handouts for English class, but will be using an electronic notebook this year.  It is important for students to bring their folder, a writing utensil, and a positive attitude to every class!
