Will you work for TIPs? {tips jar}
Concept: Teachers at all levels will find or design lessons that integrate technology into the core curriculum while improving student technology skills. Teachers will implement these plans and submit them to a data base of "ready made lessons" that will be posted on the district website for all district teachers to use.
Technology Integration - Using technology to support instruction in the content areas. We are looking for lesson plans that involve the students in using the technology. Content standards should be addressed as well as our EasyTech Units and Lesson Activities
Project details:
-
Teachers will follow a specific lesson plan format and submit a sample of a project where possible.
-
Teachers across the district can use these plans as "ready-made" lessons that correspond to district curriculum.
-
Teachers will receive "TIPs" (Technology Integration Points) for each lesson plan or website that they submit. TIPS can be accumulated to purchase items from an online "Catalog" of technology products. These items remain the property of the school district, but are to be used by the classroom teacher as long as they are employed by Northern.
- Level A Projects (5 TIPS) -
Teachers submit a lesson plan that they have implemented with their
students. This lesson plan must use our Lesson Plan Template and can be an original plan or adapted from a lesson
plan found elsewhere. Teachers must upload their plan to our site (See Instructions section at left) and notify Pam Wenger of the submission
to the site.
- Level B Projects (1 TIP) -
Teachers submit a lesson plan (using our template) that they have not implemented with their class.(See Instructions section at left.) (Limit - 5 - Then the teacher must submit a Level A Project before being eligible to submit Level B Projects again.)
-
Teachers submit a website that they have used with their students that supports a concept in one of our content areas. (See Instructions section at left.) (Limit - 5 - Then the teacher must submit a Level A Project before being eligible to submit Level B Projects again.)
-
Teachers may "save" their tips from year to year. This will be a three year project. Purchases can be made on Sept 1, Feb 1, July 1.
-
A teacher may be asked to revise a plan that has been posted.
-
Teachers may work together to create lessons, teach lessons, and submit lessons. They could then share their TIPS points. Teachers could also pool their points together to acquire items to share between them.
-
The project will be introduced in the Fall of 2006 and end in June, 2009
-
The Elementary TIPs website will be maintained by Pam Wenger. Teachers need to notify Pam of their postings to the site in order to receive TIPs points.
